Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie

University teaching plays an important role in our division. Our highly specialized medical staff share the latest scientific findings and their detailed knowledge of oral and maxillofacial surgery with students of medicine and dentistry. Our goal is to elaborate relevant content in a practical context and pass it on to the next generation of physicians and dentists.

In knowledge transfer, our goal is to bring our students closer to important aspects and fundamental principles of oral and maxillofacial surgery. The main focus is on practice-oriented teaching of evidence-based specialist findings. Students should also learn respectful interaction with patients and the great significance of personalized medicine. The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration with other clinical and preclinical divisions to provide patient care, top-class research and innovative teaching.

Lehre

Research-led teaching

University teaching and postgraduate training are core tasks of the division. High-quality education is guaranteed by continously integrating research into teaching. It is based on close collaboration with preclinical institutes, divisions, international partner universities and industrial partners.

Weiterbildung

Postgraduate training

The wide range of professional development opportunities at the Medical University of Graz is directed at a variety of occupational groups in the fields of medicine, science and research, nursing and health services. Most of the professional development courses can be completed while the participant is regularly employed and provide him/her with a valuable additional qualification.

In particular, we refer to the Doctoral program in Medical Science as well as to the further education and training offered within the "Postgraduate Dental School".
